Overview

SharePoint List Viewer is a WebPart created to allow SharePoint developers and designers to easily create list viewes based on HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
It brings the data from any SharePoint list in the whole site collection based on predefined SharePoint View and convert it to JavaScript object to allow you created your views.
You can easily create filters to allow sharepoint users filter and search your lists, Grouping data, moreover you can join lists and create Master/Details view.

Installation

To install CairoCodes SharePoint Listviewer, you have to download the trial version here or buy a licensed version here.
Once you got the SPListViewer.wsp file you are now ready to install it.
Please do the following steps to install the SharePoint ListViewer:

  1. Login to your SharePoint server as an administrator
  2. Copy the SPListViewer.wsp file to your server locally for example on "c:" drive
  3. Click the Start Menu -> All Programs -> Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products
  4. Right click on the "SharePoint 2010 Management Shell" and click "Run as administrator"
  5. Type the following command on the shell screen :
    Install-SPSolution -Identity SPListViewer.wsp -LiteralPath c:\SPListViewer.wsp –WebApplication http://[webappurl] -GACDeployment
    replace the [webappurl] with your SharePoint Web Application URL
  6. Now, The SharePoint List Viewer has been installed and you can use it in your SharePoint Pages
  7. To verify that the solution has been installed and deployed,
    - Click Start Menu -> All Programs -> Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products -> SharePoint 2010 Central Administration
    - Click "System Settings" on left navigation bar
    - Under "Farm Management" section click "Manage farm solutions"
    - Find the "plistviewer.wsp" record and check confirm the "Status" column is "Deployed" and "Deployed To" column has the value of your Web Application url
